What is VICA™?
VICA stands for Visual Interference Color Assay. At its heart, VICA harnesses the phenomenon of thin-film interference within visible light to make protein interactions observable directly on a surface by eye. This advanced yet elegantly simple approach enables precise protein detection and quantification using just our VICA Lightbox – no specialized equipment required.
With our proprietary test slides, which are crafted to create an optimal test surface to visualize protein interactions, molecules as small as 280 Daltons and as few as 30 femtomoles per square millimeter generate changes in the reflected light and can be observed and quantified almost instantly. These slides work in conjunction with our patented biomolecular interface, VICAlign, a cutting-edge innovation that guarantees proteins are perfectly poised upon the surface, ensuring outstanding sensitivity.
